Roy Dry Heape

Roy Dry Heape, a retired vice-president with the United Transportation Union, died July 10, 2000 at Memorial Hospital. He was 82 and lived at Charles Garden in Fairview Heights.
He was preceded in dath by his parents Horace and Hazel, nee Dry, Heape, his wife Freda, and his brother Delbert.
Surviving are two sons, Roger K. (Linda) Heape of St. Louis, Mo., Byron S. (Marti) Heape of Troy, Ill.; two daughters, Carole L. (Forest) Gall of Xenia, Ohio and Sue E. (Edwin) Clayton of Belleville; a brother, Loren G. Heape of Tamaroa, Ill. and a sister Eula Mae Webb of Terra Haute, Ind. and a sister-in-law, Irma Heape of Farmington, Ill., grandchildren Craig, Jeff and Blaine Carter, Jennifer Hartman, Susan and Patricia Clayton, Stacey Hofert; and Carrie Heape; 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2000 at Towerview Baptist Church, Belleville, Ill., with the Rev. Tom Eggley officiating. Interment was in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Friends were able to call from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 at Kurrus Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Heart Association and Towerview Baptist Church.
